Baldwin Street Tours

Yes. It Really Is That Steep.

Baldwin Street in North East Valley is often described as the steepest residential street in the world, and has held the Guinness World Record title for much of its recent history. Whatever the record books say on the day you visit, it is a genuinely steep street and one of Dunedin's most popular photo stops.

A Famous Gradient

Baldwin Street is short but remarkably steep, and the angle is hard to believe until you stand at the bottom.

Walk Up If You Like

There's time to walk part of the way up for the view and photos, or simply take pictures from the bottom.

A Short Stop

On our tours this is typically a stop of around 15 to 20 minutes.

A Residential Street

People live here, so we ask guests to be respectful of residents' homes, driveways and privacy.
